Since forming in August of 2006, the Jet City Rollergirls have been proud and active contributors to the Snohomish County community, giving over 100 service hours and raising over $3,000 for area charities. Off the track every member of the Jet City Rollergirls is an active member of the community whether it's volunteering time in our children's schools, earning a degree in area colleges, or working in various non-profit organizations and locally-run businesses throughout the Snohomish County region. We feel it is our responsibility to reach out to area non-profit organizations. At each of our bouts we have hosted a local non-profit organization, raising money for their cause. During our July 2007 "War Cry" bout we raised money and collected donations for Adopt-a-Platoon, benefitting our American soldiers overseas in Iraq. With the help of our generous fans and rollergirls over 90 boxes of stationery, clothing, personal care products, books, food, Xbox stations, and games were sent along with group photographs of each of the teams on the Jet City Rollergirls league. Off the track Jet City Rollergirls participated in the Annual AIDS Walk raising over $300 for the organization. After floods ruined and displaced thousands of families in the Centralia region during Winter 2007 we connected with Pasado's Safe Haven gathering 140 pounds of dog and cat food, food bowls, and cat litter for the animals of these families. For the past two years the Jet City Rollergirls have hosted a Santa Skate, where we raised money and collected clothing, gifts, and even a car, all benefitting the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women, which provides services to victims of domestic violence and their children. The event began in 2006 and was met with such success we have decided to hold it annually. Any fan coming out to support us at one of our bouts knows the Jet City Rollergirls are made up of a tenacious and determined group of women. We bring this same enthusiasm to our involvement in Snohomish County and are always looking to pursue opportunities to support the community that has come out to support us. If you know of a Snohomish County charity that the Jet City Rollergirls could help please let us know. Send an email to mona.agony@jetcityrollergirls.com.
