The legend of the Hula Honeys began when the Goddess Pele laid claim to the tallest mountain on earth, Mauna Loa. This enraged her powerful sister, Namaka, who flung her waves as high as she could toward this tall mountain. In retaliation Pele's fires rose out of the trembling earth, spewing rivers of fiery lava into the ocean, driving the sea away from the coast. Although victorious in her battle Pele did not escape unscathed. With the death of her physical body she became a spirit that could transform into a beautiful woman. Because of this ability all the other male gods wanted Pele for themselves and fought over her often. This further enraged all the other goddesses whom attacked Pele for her beauty and wanton nature. Pele could not defend herself from so many attacks. Alas, she needed help and in the fiery depths of her mountain Pele created the Hula Honeys a group of beautiful, strong and fiery women to help fend off all her attackers.
The Hula Honeys fought, thrashed, and beat anyone that got in their way proving themselves to Pele while making all others jealous of their beautiful ways. However, the Hula Honeys did not possess magical powers and could not defend themselves from those that did so Pele ordered her servant the Tiki Terror, a mythical tiki from the tropics, to protect the Hula Honeys and cast evil spells on their opponents.
The Hula Honeys' motto is to "lei 'em and slay 'em" and have became known as a team of women that are ultra fierce in protecting their own. Beware to those that dare to challenge them.
